Programmes
Alongside 1-1 occupational therapy sessions, any of the programmes below can be conducted 1-1 or in a group and runs over six weeks, with a clear weekly focus so you always know what to expect. Every service can be delivered one to one or in a small group, and in person or online. In person sessions run at Riverside Wellbeing in Whaley Bridge, High Peak.
Therapeutic Knitting Group – 6 week programme
Knit Flow Grow
Using knitting as a therapeutic occupation to improve wellbeing, reduce stress and increase confidence and connection.
Weekly Focus
- Learning or developing knitting skills, at your own pace
- Mindfulness through making
- Sensory regulation
- Flow, and the calming effect of focused, repetitive occupation
- Purposeful creativity
- Social connection within the group
This programme is primarily for adults. No previous knitting experience is needed and all levels are welcome. Sessions run in person at Riverside Wellbeing in Whaley Bridge or online. Parent Programme – 6 weeks
Chaos to Calm
Supporting parents to better understand behaviour, emotions, sensory needs and routines while reducing stress at home.
Weekly Focus

- Communication and co-regulation
- Creating a calmer family life
This programme is great for parents who have children with sensory processing differences, neurodivergence, and additional needs.
CBT for Insomnia – 6-week programme
Sleep Well, Live Well
A structured programme using evidence-based CBT-I techniques to improve sleep quality and daytime functioning.
Weekly Focus
- Sleep science
- Sleep restriction and stimulus control
- Managing racing thoughts
- Relaxation
- Building sustainable sleep habits
- Maintaining progress

Anxiety Programme – 6 weeks
ARC – Anxiety, Resilience & Change
Supporting children and young people to understand anxiety, build resilience and develop practical strategies for managing emotions, navigating change and feeling more confident in everyday life.

- Recognising emotions, thoughts and triggers
- Understanding the nervous system and learning to regulate
- Building resilience and developing coping strategies

- Growing confidence, self-awareness and a sense of control
This programme is great for children and young people who experience anxiety, worry, overwhelm, difficulty managing emotions, low confidence or challenges with change and uncertainty.
